Mauritius offers a wide range of options for relocation and legal residence. One of the most popular options is the Premium Visa, which is issued for one year and can be extended. However, Premium Visa holders are not allowed to work for a local company or run a business in Mauritius.
If you want to enter the local market, you can apply for a Self-Employed or Investor permit. These routes require a minimum investment of USD 50,000 or USD 100,000 respectively, and are subject to minimum turnover requirements.

Business Setup with a local partner

The client fills out a form, which helps us understand their needs and determine the most suitable solution. This stage is free of charge
The client shares their preferences regarding the type of business they want to start. If they do not have a clear idea, we provide recommendations based on our experience and knowledge of Mauritius.
The client receives a clear overview of the expected costs, with no unexpected expenses, including company setup costs, licence fees, government fees and other related expenses.
Setting up a company requires a specific set of documents. Our lawyers review the documents provided by the client to reduce the risk of rejection. If any issues are found, we ask the client to make the necessary changes.
Together with the client, we define the key characteristics and requirements for the local partner.
This is a key stage of the process. Based on the partner profile, we find a genuine local partner who is interested in developing the business.
Once a potential partner is found, they go through our internal screening process. If they pass the screening, we introduce them to the client.
We understand the importance of personal communication. The introduction can take place with us present on a joint call or directly between the client and the partner. After the introduction, both parties sign a letter of intent to establish a joint company.
The required documents depend on the chosen business area and the investment amounts of the client and the partner. The legal address is provided either by the partner or by us.

The list of documents required for the permit is much broader than the list required for company incorporation. In some cases, we can make the process more efficient by reviewing all documents for both company incorporation and the permit at the same time.
The employment agreement is not a standard template, as the client may hold different positions within the company.
This includes documents between the company and the client, as well as additional documents that may improve the chances of getting the permit. The exact list depends on the individual case
We submit the permit application and communicate with the relevant authorities during the review process. After submitting the documents, the client must come to Mauritius, as some procedures require their personal presence.
The interview with the relevant authority is an important stage that can affect the final decision on whether to grant or refuse the permit. We help the client prepare, answer questions correctly and successfully complete this stage.
If any questions arise during the application review, we respond promptly and advise the client until the permit is received.
